Wildflower Whimsy. What a ring.
I have fought against writing a blog for years for a number of reasons. The main being that I don’t feel like I have enough of my life together to have a voice. But the older I get the more I realize that we all have a voice. We all have the ability to share something of ourselves to create and make the world more beautiful somehow. Being made in the image of God, the ultimate Creator, we are all born with a gift to create.
What does that look like in the midst of the busyness of life?
I’m not sure exactly. But I’ve been thinking about it.
I recently read an article challenging people to pursue art. But how we are often ‘blocked’ by feeling like we need to learn how to do it better…maybe a few tutorials online, maybe copy someone elses artwork to make sure you do it successfully (me). One of the challenges this article gave was to do art ‘ugly’. Not doing it for any recognition. Not doing it out of obligation or feeling like it has to be perfect to even try. But doing it ugly.
I challenge you to follow the nudge. What is it inside of you that wants to take a step but keeps getting shushed back into it’s place? Do that thing. And do it ugly. Your soul will thank you.
Until next time, with wildflower whimsy (I’ll nut out to everyone what I mean by this eventually – watch this space), Steph xo
